The first minute in, i was thinking to myself,... this was good but not great.

Though, when he fell asleep and was fighting the other character and the "Greek Fire" music kicked in...
my expectations suddenly and drastically changed.

The mix of excellent 2d animation, lighting, bright colors, matching and in sync with the music, was truly a treat for the eyes and ears.

gildedguy responds:

Glad you enjoyed it! I should look into 'hooking' viewers in at the start of my future animations.

This was sad.

You've been on newgrounds for awhile now (I think?)

Your videos that you uploaded have always been still images in a sequence or some kind of animatic.

You have some good character designs and drawing skills and it would be awesome if your next video was 2D animated instead of your usual.

Push your boundaries and don't be afraid to fail:)

Raziberry responds:

Appreciate the vote of confidence but I have no interest in full animation, and I don't think it'd suit my narrative style anyway. Glad you like them otherwise!

Masterful use of adobe Flash and other programs.
One of the best original stories I've seen on newgrounds in the past year.
Great characters with a lot of personality.

This was great to watch from start to end.

Xiphon responds:

I'd like to expand the software use in the future. Adam Phillips (creator of the Brackenwood series) talks occasionally about how he used to use Flash until it was no longer able to support what he was trying to do with it, and there's some elements of this that have left me feeling similar. The 3-D spinning planets during the opening, for example, were incredibly taxing on the program. Things like all the lighting overlays and effects also were a huge strain, and happen to be things I know other programs do better.

I just happen to have the most animation experience in flash, so I stuck to that, but it may be inevitable I need to make some kind of leap to something else unless Adobe improves certain aspects of it.

The character designs, backgrounds, and animation really need work.

But,
I liked the lipsync on the main character and the dialogue was funny.

Also, the last minute and a half with the still image where your thanking people for subscribing was really unnecessary.

You should thank your subscribers in a separate video, and not have it as add-on in something that's not even related.

TheMultiMechs responds:

yeah sorry about that i didnt want to make seperate video because im on a schedule, thanks for the review

Some of the dialogue was funny.

The animation was ok.

The characters had no mouths or any lipsync animation of any kind.
The characters aren't detailed (they resemble stick figures).
The backgrounds are really basic.
The story and plot was all over the place.

HadenDA responds:

I won't pretend like I don't understand the small rating. I do, and I respect your opinion. Though, I found the comment "They resemble stick figures" funny, mostly because they are. The show is called Stick Fidijig (fidijig being an intentionally dumb sounding made up word), a show about stick figures. Now, if you watch the first episode, you can tell I had no plan on making this an actual series with a plot. That's the "problem" with my mind. I can't just make fun random nonsense for the sake of it. I've pretty much turned this use of stick figure designs into a stylistic choice (bit of a stretch, I know). This is the 8th episode of the series and, in my opinion, the best one yet. Thanks for the review.

lol

The quick 2 second scenes, beast thing squeezing the green girls ass, talking about "male privelege" was hilarious.

ryancomiskey responds:

Hey thanks! I appreciate the feedback.

I liked the choice of background music, hip-hop beats, and sound effects spliced in at the right moments.
The live action and visual effects between animations really set the proper mood and "feel" of the whole thing.
I like the characters, designs, and backgrounds.

My only gripe, is the animation.
The animation was ok and needs improvement.

The story or plot didn't hold my attention either. (If there was one, I couldn't tell)

Screwits responds:

fair enough. this ones an oldie technically. I went over it alot before i decided to just release it as is and move on. Thank you though!

Really good 2d animation.

I didn't understand the story though.
The whiterun guards attacked dovahbear because he attacked the bowman in self defense?
In skyrim, the npc's wouldn't do that, not lore friendly...tsk..tsk.

Bowz responds:

thanks!
It's less game logic, and more about the guards not knowing there was a scuffle until they heard the shout.

I can see all the effort you put in the designs and backgrounds.
The timing and lip sync was good.

The animation isn't that great, but eventually it grows on you.

I personally (based on my own beliefs) did not agree with some of the things said by the old man, but it was informative none the less

OblitusCS responds:

Thanks Chris! Yes I know, there is a lot of talking. Still I'm very happy you liked it and that you were able to see it all, specially if you were disagreeing with the old man.

I don't know who Nigel Farage is but I still liked this.

The animation is good and i can understand the humor in this.

SedatedHippo responds:

Thank you
